Being a CNA was only the beginning, the interest in food and medicine prompted her to study at Broward College, completing her prerequisites for nursing, with the intention of pursuing a degree in nursing at Nova Southeastern University. However, after the tour, visits with counselors, and submission of transcripts, Dr Leonie decided to do something different, and something different became Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
Leonie Wims L.,Ac. began her career as a Physician of Eastern Medicine after graduating from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in 2016, where she completed a Masters in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration She went on to further her studies in the doctoral programme for two years. “ I sometimes laugh at the fact that I was in school full-time for eight years, but it was all worth the sacrifice”.Since graduation, she has worked in several clinics and wellness centers, with the majority of her experience and knowledge being gained while interning at the public acupuncture clinic for ATOM, working with the Veteran community at VFW post 8195, and volunteering at Poverello’s Wellness Centre in Ft Lauderdale. In 2005 She graduated as Homeopath; as time progressed, She recognized the interconnected nature of Homeopathy and guided clients towards holistic living, mind, body, and spirit. She was so fascinated with the results of using Homeopathy that She decided to go deeper into this field. She traveled to India to better understand Homeopathy while studying Homeopathy in India Mumbai. She experienced How doctors in India use natural products to heal the skin from within. When she returned to the US, she decided to go back to school to become an Aesthetician.
In 2006 She graduated as an Aesthetician, and she began to blend her signature facials using Homeopathy and natural products to heal the skin with holistic treatments. Working as an Aesthetician, one of the things that she loves is to listen to her clients and listen to their skin.
